Maple Brussels Sprouts with Candied Pecans

Roasted Brussels sprouts with maple and a crunchy pecan finish. Cozy, sweet, and savory.

Yield: Serves 4

Ingredients

• 1½ lbs Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• 3 tbsp pure maple syrup, divided
• Salt and black pepper, to taste
• ½ cup pecan halves
• 2 tbsp brown sugar
• 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Toss sprouts with olive oil, 2 tbsp maple syrup, salt, and pepper. Roast 20 to 25 minutes. Stir once.
3. Make candied pecans. Melt butter. Add pecans, brown sugar, and remaining 1 tbsp maple syrup. Cook 3 to 4 minutes. Cool.
4. Toss sprouts with pecans. Serve warm. Add red pepper flakes if you like heat.
